Once you have had a serious traffic violation resulting in a license suspension, The State of Texas will require proof of minimum liability insurance. The SR22 is proof of this.

You might also need an SR22 if you have had:

- A DWI or DUI,
- No Insurance Tickets,
- An At-fault accident while driving without insurance,
- Excessive traffic tickets in a short period of time, or
- A Suspended, Invalid or Revoked drivers license.

The SR22 is required for your Occupational Drivers License which is typically anywhere from 3 to 6 months. Additionally, you may need the SR22 for 2 years from the date of your conviction.

We will electronically send your SR22 to the Texas DPS. However, you are welcome to send your own copy for confirmation.

There are three ways to print your SR22 certificate:

You will be able to print your SR22 as soon as the policy is purchased,
We will also email you a copy of the SR22 immediately, and
You will be able to log in to your account to manage your SR22 policy.

Yes. Your SR22 requirement needs to be completed in Texas before you can apply for a driver's license in another State. If the SR22 is cancelled before your requirement has been satisfied, the State may re-suspend your driver's license.
